Wedding Celebrant

I could not be more thrilled to offer you my services as a fully qualified Wedding Celebrant!

I figure with all my years of experience performing and writing, my friendly and gregarious personality and my love for all things ‘wedding’ that this is the perfect job for me! And I think I am probably right!

However, I have been asked - What is a celebrant? And how does it differ from a registrar?
Well, I’m here to explain…

A celebrant offers a flexible, personalised approach to weddings. Because we are not bound by legal or government regulations, we can craft ceremonies that truly reflect a couple’s unique story and values, offering a fun, intimate and truly memorable experience. Oh and by the way the ceremony can take place anywhere!

A registrar on the other hand is a government official. The ceremony has to abide by specific rules and regulations. A registrar ceremony is straightforward and legally binding but its structured ‘one size fits all’ format means there is very little flexibility for making it personal. The ceremony must also take place in a registered venue.

I hope that helps!

So, What's my style?

I’m a fun, vibrant celebrant with a background in acting, presenting and voice-over work. I am passionate about creating unforgettable wedding ceremonies that put couples' love stories in the spotlight. My approach is fun, relaxed, and considerate, blending meaningful moments with humour and heart. Each ceremony I create is a personal reflexion of the couple's unique journey and future dreams. My delivery will keep your guests engaged and ensure the marriage remains the central focus while celebrating it in a memorable and joyful way.
So, let’s get started!!
Your story, Your day, Your way!

On a personal level and as a woman who has attended many weddings, I am sad to say that I have witnessed guests who seem to want the ‘ceremony bit’ over and done with so the real party can start. I think this is such a shame and make it my mission at all of my weddings to ensure that the ‘party’ starts as soon as your guests arrive!! No one should be wishing away the actual ‘marriage bit’ but relishing and enjoying every single minute of it!

I love to get to know new people and as your celebrant I will definitely get to know you!
We will have lots of chats and laughs together as we design your perfect ceremony.
Don't you think it'll be so much nicer to see a friendly face at the end of the aisle rather than a stranger that you had a quick
phone call with last Wednesday?

So, if you were to choose me for your ceremony,
what should you expect?
Well, we would…
-
Meet in person or on FaceTime a few times to discuss everything about YOU and your partner
-
Discuss where you met? How you got engaged? Any funny stories you have about each other? You would both fill out questionnaires too so I can really get the low down!
-
Discuss your vows – would you like a more traditional vows or customised? I can help you write them if you like?
-
Discuss and choose poetry that may have personal or significance. Again, I can assist you or a guest to write something personal, funny or otherwise.
-
Talk you through symbolic rituals like handfasting, unity candles, cocktail making, sand pouring, chocolate eating! - you name it, we can do it! (well, within reason)
-
Discuss Music choices that hold special meaning or special memories or that you just love and have to have as you walk down the aisle!
-
Decide on involvement of family and friends in the ceremony
(the more the merrier) -
Discuss honouring loved ones who have passed
-
Discuss any religious content or cultural traditions that you may like to include
-
Liaise with friends and family who are involved
Basically, we can do it all! Include whatever is important to you!
And from all this information I would then craft a bespoke ceremony script just for you...

I hope all of this is sounds as exciting to you as it does to me!!
Nb. It is important to remember that a celebrant ceremony is not legally binding on its own. To legalise your marriage, you must register it through a Statutory Ceremony usually a few days before. This would consist of a low-fee, low-cost ceremony where you would speak the declaratory words and sign a register in front of two witnesses. No music, vows, big dress or exchange of rings necessary-you can save all of that for your big day!
